The Bronx
is the northernmost borough of
New York City and the only one which is part of the mainland
United States and not situated on an island. The Bronx is
known as the birthplace of Hip-Hop and has long been a
symbol of urban decay and a ghetto, but this has changed
over the last 15 years. Today visiting the Bronx, even the
South Bronx, is not much more dangerous than other places in
New York, in fact it might be even less dangerous than other
cities in the United States, since New York has now one of the
lowest crime rates.
