CO-OP CITY

Located in the northeast corner of the Bronx, Co-op City is the largest cooperative housing development in the world. Its 35 high-rise buildings and seven clusters of townhouses are housing more than 50.000 people. This “city within a city” also has eight parking garages, schools, houses of worship, a power plant, and a firehouse. The Bay Plaza Shopping Mall, which is located in Co-op City, features several department stores, restaurants and a multiplex movie theater.
