WAKEFIELD

Wakefield is the northernmost neighborhood in the Bronx, bordering the city of Yonkers. Formerly, it was home to a large number of Irish American and Italian American populations. During the 1980s, these communities were replaced with large African American populations. There are also many Caribbean immigrants in Wakefield. The area can be reached by the 2-Train, the 5-Train and the Metro-North Railroad.
